How To Become A Referee:

Each season the OSA offers training at all levels for referees, including those referees who are entering the program for the first time to those seeking promotion to the next level.  Courses in our area are held in April and May each year.

 

Mini Soccer Referee  - an individual must be at least 12 years old and no more than 13 years old on or before    March 31, 2013.

                                          - You will be required to attend a one day OSA training course

                                          - You will be authorized to referee Mini Soccer games for age groups of U4 to U10 level

                                         

Entry Level Referees      - an individual must be at least 14 years old before April 1, 2013

                                           - You will be required to complete a pre-course workbook and attend a 2 day course 

                                           - Should you pass the examination you will be certified as a CSA District Referee (if over the age of 16) or                                              a Youth Referee (if under the age of 16)

                                         

District Referees            - an individual must reach the full age of 16 years before April 1, 2013

                                          - eligible to referee competitive and recreational soccer games up to Level 3 of the OSA pyramid of play

 

Regional Referees        - an individual must reach the full age of 18 years before April 1, 2013

                                          - You must have a minimum of two years experience as a District Referee.

                                          - You must successfully complete the OSA Regional Referee Upgrade program.

 

Upcoming courses being held in the Carleton Place/Almonte area:

Mini field Referee Course:  Saturday, April 20th

Entry Level Referee Course:  Weekend of May 4th & 5th

Instructions:

  • Click on Search for a referee course
  • Using the drop down menu under ‘Search by club’, select Almonte for the Mini Field (12-13 years old) course and Carleton Place for the Entry Level course (14years and up).
  • Click register beside the course and follow the instructions to register.

Please follow up by sending our Head Referee an email to let him know that you have started the registration process.
