The Carleton Place Soccer Club is committed to promoting, supporting and developing the game of soccer by providing young people and adults with the opportunity to play the game and to develop their skills. The Club is proud and honoured to be able to provide the following programs:
Just Kick It! - 4 to 7 Year Olds
Children will receive instruction in the fundamentals of soccer, have practice drills, and put their new skills to use in a fun scrimmage. Just Kick It! is held on Friday nights at Beckwith Park. The season runs from mid June to the last week of August. Just Kick It! players will receive a team shirt (to keep after the season ends) which is generously donated by our Carleton Place Tim Horton's. Check out the team pictures from past years at our local Tim Horton's. All players must supply their own shin pads (mandatory), and cleats (running shoes are acceptable).
Recreational Youth - 7 to 19 Year Olds
Recreational players are placed on teams that play in the Goulbourn Lanark Soccer League (GLSL). This program offers new and experienced youth players a single level of recreational play. Carleton Place Soccer Club teams practice once a week and have a game once a week against teams from Carleton Place, Almonte, Merrrickville, Smiths Falls and Perth in alternating locations (Home and Away games).
All youth players will receive a uniform kit (shirt, shorts & socks) that will be theirs to keep at the end of the season. Recreational players will be advised of their placement on a team by early to mid-May. Some adjustment to team rosters may be necessary, early in the season, to balance teams if there are two or more Carleton Place Soccer Club teams in one division.
Competitive Youth - 9 - 18 Year Olds (Lanark United)
After holding try-outs to determine eligibility, Competitive players are placed on teams that play in the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association League (EODSA), or the Eastern Regional Soccer League (ERSL). The try-out process allows the Team Selection Committee to evaluate new and returning players. The Carleton Place Soccer Club will be hosting teams at all age levels where feasible. Game locations are determined by other teams entered at each specific division.
All youth players will receive a uniform kit (shirt, shorts & socks) that will be theirs to keep at the end of the season. The Carleton Place Soccer Club is returning to calling its competitive soccer program “LANARK UNITED”. This name was chosen to reflect the diversity of players we receive on our teams. The Lanark United teams will be wearing new colours (burgundy and sky blue) along with an updated logo.
Competitive Teams will enjoy the benefit of at least six weeks of Spring Training (March - May) at the Indoor Soccer Facility located in the Beckwith Recreation Complex.
U14Boys and L16Girls have been promoted to the L3 division. Competing at this higher level means additional player fees and travel distance.
Players trying out for competitive teams will be advised as to whether they were selected to a team by March 15th. Refunds of the competitive portion of the registration fee will be issued mid-May for those players not placed on a competitive team, but who will be playing in the recreational league.
Adults - 19 Years Old and Up
Adults have a geat selection of teams and different playing levels to choose from. Check out the Game Nights chart for the different teams the Carleton Place Soccer Club enters in the Goulbourn Lanark Soccer League (GLSL) and the Ottawa-Carleton Soccer League (OCSL). The Club will provide a uniform kit (jersey, shorts and socks) this year.
